Bacon Buns


Ingredients:

1 1/2 pound bacon, finely minced

1 large onion, finely minced

2 cup milk

½ pound butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 pack fresh or granulated yeast

5 eggs, slightly beaten

6 cups all-purpose flour

Directions:
  1. Put finely minced bacon and onion in skillet; cover with water.
  2. Cover pan; simmer until water evaporates.
  3. Pour complete mixture into a loaf pan and cool in refrigerator.
  4. Heat milk and butter; add sugar and salt.
  5. Dissolved yeast mix.
  6. Stir in sifted flour; beat vigorously.
  7. Cover; let rise in warm place until doubled.
  8. Punch down; cover and let rise again.
  9. Cut dough into four sections.
  10. Roll each section on lightly floured board until 3/8-inch thick.
  11. Cut circles with cookie cutter.
  12. Put a teaspoon of the cooled bacon mixture in the center of each; fold sides over.
  13. Put seam side down on lightly greased cookie sheet; let rise again until doubled.
  14. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly tanned; brush with mix of egg yolk and 2 teaspoons of water.
  15. Continue baking until golden brown.
  16. Serve hot.
